A 2-Mile Foster Care Walk Fundraiser

The Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association and the Iowa Friends of Foster Children Foundation are excited to join together on a fundraising venture, called “Stride for Foster Care - Take a Walk on a Child’s Side”. This family friendly event will take place the morning of Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Des Moines. The Stride for Foster Care event will include a two-mile walk around the beautiful Gray’s Lake Park and will end with food and activities for everyone.

Register to Walk

If you would like to participate, walkers will be able to register and raise funds online. You can walk on your own or create a team of family members, friends, or coworkers and join in the fun. Adult walkers are asked to pay a $30 registration fee or collect at least $30 in pledge contributions. Walkers will receive a free t-shirt if they register online or call IFAPA (800-277-8145 ext. 4) by April 15. Walkers can still register after April 15; however, t-shirts are only available while supplies last. Children under age 12 can walk for free. Children’s t-shirts will be available for purchase at $10 each. ONLINE REGISTRATION COMING SOON!

Fundraising Efforts

You can join in on the fundraising efforts by registering for the walk online and asking your friends and family for their financial support. Your fundraising efforts will help support Iowa’s children in foster care, in addition to the programs that support foster and adoptive families.
